If you truly believe in the use of the FSA results, then you should vote "no".
If you believe that ranking and comparing students, schools, districts is an appropriate way to report FSA results, then you should vote "no".
If you believe that the ranking system does not do harm to our teachers, students and their parents, then you should vote "no".
If you believe that directing teachers to administer the FSA is not an erosion of professional automony, then you should vote "no".
If you believe that the ranking system is not part of an overall move toward privatization of the public education system, then you should vote "no".
But, I feel that is important NOT to vote "no" because you disagree with the BCTF FSA campaign.
The decision to have a vote was an AGM decision made by teachers. The time now is to make sure that we have a strong "yes" vote so we can to move forward to other issues such as class size/composition or grade 10 exams or professional autonomy. As with all issues in which we need strong provincial solidarity, we need to stand together to keep our association and any future bargaining or political stand strong.
